Obviously I don't blame him as the directing can take the fault in that but it doesn't change fact. Skarsgard, on the other hand, did everything perfectly. He combined a pure mix of horror and humor as the clown, something it should have if it was supposed to be a monster and a clown at the same time. He gave off a pitch perfect performance donning the persona as the evil clown, and even in the scenes that added humor to it, you can still feel the sense of disturbing and unease emanating from his character. Again, Tim Curry was by no means a bad IT or an actor for that matter. Skarsgard just did it better.
